Banff National Park (Days 2–4)
Banff is the jewel of the Canadian Rockies. Lake Louise is the most photographed lake in Canada — arrive before 8am to beat crowds and find parking (critical for RVs). Moraine Lake is even more stunning but has very limited parking. Take the shuttle from Lake Louise Village instead.
RV Camping: Tunnel Mountain Village 1 and 2 are the closest campgrounds to Banff townsite. Reserve at reservation.pc.gc.ca. Lake Louise Campground has RV sites with electrical hookups (CA$41/night).
Icefields Parkway (Days 5–6)
The Icefields Parkway (Highway 93N) from Lake Louise to Jasper is 230 km of the most spectacular mountain driving on Earth. Every curve reveals another glacier, waterfall, or turquoise lake. Take it slow — this is not a drive to rush.
Must-stops: Peyto Lake (20-minute walk to viewpoint), Columbia Icefield (walk on a glacier — CA$42 per person), Athabasca Falls, Sunwapta Falls. RV camping at Wilcox Creek Campground (no hookups, first-come-first-served, spectacular setting).
Jasper National Park (Days 7–8)
Jasper is less crowded than Banff and arguably more beautiful. Maligne Lake and Spirit Island (the most iconic view in the Canadian Rockies) are reached by boat tour (CA$75/person). Jasper Dark Sky Preserve is the second-largest in the world — the stargazing is incredible.
Wildlife: Jasper has the highest density of wildlife in the Canadian Rockies. Bears, elk, moose, and mountain goats are commonly seen from the road. Keep 100 metres from bears, 30 metres from elk.
Whistler & Vancouver (Days 11–14)
Whistler is a world-class resort village year-round. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola connects Whistler and Blackcomb mountains at 436 metres above the valley floor. Summer hiking, mountain biking, and zip-lining replace skiing.
Vancouver is the grand finale: Stanley Park (1,000-acre urban park with seawall cycling), Granville Island (public market, craft breweries), and Gastown (steam clock, restaurants). Return your RV at a Vancouver depot.
