1. About Our Service

CamperCompare is a trading name of Dundee Tourism Group Pty Ltd (ABN 41 673 427 060), a campervan and motorhome comparison platform registered under Australian law. We provide an online service where campervan rental operators (“Suppliers”) can advertise and sell their products and where travellers (“Customers”) can search, compare and make booking enquiries.

CamperCompare acts solely as an intermediary. When you make a booking through our platform, you enter into a direct contractual relationship with the relevant Supplier. We transmit your booking details to the Supplier and send a confirmation email on the Supplier’s behalf.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website, submitting a booking enquiry, or completing a booking through our platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Enquiry & Confirmation

When you submit a booking enquiry, our team will review your request and respond with availability and pricing from our network of Suppliers. A booking is not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us or the relevant Supplier.

3.2 Supplier Terms

Each Supplier has their own terms and conditions which govern the rental agreement, including but not limited to vehicle condition, roadside assistance, territorial restrictions, mileage limits, fuel policy, and cleaning fees. You are responsible for reading and understanding the Supplier’s specific terms before confirming your booking.

3.3 Your Responsibilities & Acknowledgements

By making a booking through CamperCompare, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that all booking details — including the vehicle, dates, pick-up and drop-off locations, driver details, and selected inclusions — are correct before confirming. We book exactly what you select and confirm. We are not liable for bookings made with incorrect details, mistaken assumptions, or any misunderstanding on your part.
  • It is your responsibility to select appropriate insurance cover for your trip. Insurance options, excess/liability amounts, inclusions and exclusions vary by Supplier and vehicle. We do not provide insurance advice, and we are not liable for any costs, excess, damage, or losses arising from insufficient, unsuitable, or declined cover that you choose.
  • It is your responsibility to make all payments in full by the due dates specified in your booking confirmation. Late or missed payments may result in cancellation by the Supplier and forfeiture of your non-refundable booking deposit and any other amounts paid, in line with the cancellation terms below.
  • You are responsible for reading your booking confirmation and the Supplier’s rental agreement in full, including driver age and licence requirements, mileage limits, fuel and cleaning policies, and territorial and vehicle-use restrictions.
  • All quotes, availability, and pricing are indicative until confirmed and remain subject to the Supplier’s final terms and availability at the time of confirmation.

4. Pricing & Payments

  • All prices displayed on our website are indicative and based on current rates provided by Suppliers. Prices are shown in Australian Dollars (AUD) for Australian rentals and New Zealand Dollars (NZD) for New Zealand rentals, and include GST unless otherwise stated.
  • Final pricing may vary based on availability, seasonal demand, vehicle-specific rates, one-way fees, and any applicable surcharges or taxes.
  • Where payment is processed through our platform, it is facilitated via secure third-party payment processors. Payment to CamperCompare constitutes payment of the booking price to the Supplier.
  • Obvious errors or mistakes in pricing displayed on our website are not binding.

5. Cancellation & Amendments

5.1 Cancellation Policy

Once a booking is confirmed and locked in with the Supplier at an agreed rate, that rate applies for the duration of the booking regardless of subsequent price changes, promotions, or availability fluctuations. This is consistent with standard industry practice across travel and transport sectors.

Booking Deposit

A deposit is required to secure your booking and reserve the vehicle with the rental supplier.

The booking deposit is non-refundable once the booking has been confirmed, regardless of cancellation, change of travel plans, or failure to travel.

Any additional payments made beyond the booking deposit will be refunded in accordance with the applicable rental supplier’s cancellation policy, less any applicable cancellation fees, payment processing fees, or other charges.

Cancellation terms beyond the booking deposit vary by Supplier. Please refer to your individual booking confirmation for full cancellation details.

5.2 Price Changes After Booking

CamperCompare is unable to offer price matching, retrospective discounts, or rate adjustments once a booking has been confirmed and secured with the Supplier. Rates can fluctuate due to promotions, availability, seasonal demand, or Supplier pricing — however, the rate agreed at the time of booking is final.

Customers who wish to take advantage of a lower rate must cancel their existing booking (subject to the cancellation terms above, including forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit) and place a new booking at the current rate, subject to availability.

5.3 Amendments

To review, adjust, or cancel a booking, please contact our customer service team. Amendments or cancellations may incur charges in accordance with the policies of both CamperCompare and the Supplier. CamperCompare cannot guarantee that amended bookings will be available at the same rate.

5.4 No-Show

If you fail to collect your vehicle at the agreed time without prior notice, the Supplier may cancel your booking and you will forfeit your deposit and any prepaid amounts. It is your responsibility to communicate any delays directly with the Supplier.

6. Insurance & Bonds

Insurance inclusions and bond/deposit (security deposit) requirements vary by Supplier and vehicle type. Basic insurance (typically Collision Damage Waiver) is generally included in the hire price. Additional cover to reduce or eliminate your excess/liability can usually be purchased at booking or pick-up. Full insurance details will be provided in your booking confirmation and at the Supplier’s depot.

7. Driver Requirements

  • Drivers must hold a full, valid driver’s licence. A standard car licence is sufficient for most campervans and motorhomes.
  • International visitors must carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their home country licence. If your licence is not in English, an accredited English translation is required.
  • Minimum driver age requirements vary by Supplier but are typically 21 years. Some Suppliers accept drivers aged 18–20 with an additional young driver surcharge.
  • All nominated drivers must be present at pick-up with valid identification and their driver’s licence.

8. Vehicle Use & Restrictions

  • Vehicles must only be driven on sealed roads unless the Supplier expressly permits off-road or unsealed road travel.
  • Restricted areas (such as certain 4WD tracks or island beaches) vary by Supplier and are detailed in the rental agreement.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all rental vehicles. Cleaning fees will apply for any evidence of smoking.
  • Pets are generally not permitted unless expressly agreed with the Supplier in writing prior to pick-up.

9. Limitation of Liability

CamperCompare acts as an intermediary and is not the owner, operator, or insurer of any vehicle listed on our platform. To the extent permitted by law:

  • The relevant Supplier is solely responsible and liable for the booking and the service provided, including any complaints, claims, product liabilities, vehicle condition, breakdowns, or accidents.
  • CamperCompare is not liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, special, or consequential losses, damages, costs or expenses arising from or related to the Supplier’s products or services.
  • CamperCompare does not endorse, guarantee, or make any representations about the quality, safety, or suitability of any Supplier or vehicle.
  • While we aim to display accurate and up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee that all content, pricing, or availability on our platform is correct or complete.
