Western Australia's Coastal Driving Paradise
Western Australia's coastline stretches over 20,000 km — making it one of the longest and most diverse coastlines of any state or territory in the world. For campervan travellers, WA offers uncrowded beaches, world-class marine life, and some of Australia's most dramatic coastal scenery.
Route 1: Perth to Margaret River (South-West)
Distance: 270 km | Duration: 3–5 days
The south-west of WA is a compact paradise of surf beaches, towering karri forests, and world-renowned wineries. Margaret River is the heart of WA's wine country — over 200 cellar doors producing exceptional cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and sauvignon blanc.
Key stops include Busselton Jetty (1.8 km into the ocean), Caves Road (drive through karri forests past limestone caves), and the surf breaks at Yallingup and Prevelly. The Cape to Cape Track (135 km) offers incredible coastal walking — do day sections or the entire multi-day hike.

Route 4: Perth to Esperance (South Coast)
Distance: 720 km | Duration: 4–6 days
Head south-east from Perth to Esperance, home to some of Australia's most beautiful beaches.
