Practical Info for Adelaide
Pickup & Depot Info
Adelaide campervan depots are located near Adelaide Airport in the western suburbs (Mile End, Thebarton, Richmond). Apollo, Britz, and Maui operate from this area. JUCY has a depot on Sir Donald Bradman Drive. Free airport shuttle transfers are available from most brands. The depots are all within 15 minutes of the airport.
Driving Tips
Adelaide's roads are well-maintained and relatively uncrowded compared to Sydney and Melbourne. The South Eastern Freeway has a gradient-slowing requirement for heavy vehicles — use low gear. Wine region roads (Barossa, McLaren Vale) are narrow and winding. If heading to the Flinders Ranges or outback, carry extra water and fuel. The Stuart Highway to Alice Springs is excellent but remote.
Caravan Parks & Campgrounds
Adelaide Shores Holiday Village is beachside at West Beach, just 15 minutes from the CBD. BIG4 West Beach Parks is also excellent. For the Barossa Valley, Discovery Parks Barossa Valley has a great location. Heading to the Flinders Ranges, Rawnsley Park Station offers spectacular outback camping.
