The Bruce Highway is the main route to Airlie Beach, with a 25 km turnoff at Proserpine. The road is sealed and well-maintained. Watch for sugar cane trucks between Mackay and Proserpine during crushing season (June-November). The Airlie Beach main street has limited large vehicle parking — use the large car park near the lagoon or the Whitsunday Sailing Club area for campervan-friendly parking.
