Alice Springs campervan depots are on Stuart Highway, south of the town centre near Alice Springs Airport. Apollo, Britz, and Maui operate here. The selection is smaller than coastal cities, so book well in advance, especially during peak season (April–September). The airport is just 15 minutes from town.
Driving Tips
The Red Centre has extreme temperatures — carry at least 4L of water per person per day. Fuel is expensive and stations can be 200+ km apart. The Lasseter Highway to Uluru is sealed but watch for wildlife, especially at dusk. The Mereenie Loop (connecting Kings Canyon to Alice Springs) requires a 4WD and a Mereenie Loop pass from the visitor centre. Speed limit on the Stuart Highway is 130km/h.
